English longcase clock
The movement of an English longcase clock from the last quarter of the 18th century in unrestored condition before disassembly. Below you can see the movement after tap polishing, rebushing, anchor resoled, cleaning and polishing. The needle of the minute hand has been broken and lost in the past and the stub repaired beyond repair in an ugly way. In the photo next to it, the new sawn-out minute hand - copied from the old model - made of steel can already be seen. After filing, sanding, polishing, determining the position of the square hole for the correct striking moment and blackening, the pointer is ready for use again.
